Simhachalam
is the place where Lord Sri Mahavishnu saved Prahlad, when the
remorseless danavas at the behest of Hiranyakasipu dipping him in
the mid-sea placed a fifty mile-long hill over his head to making
Jalasamadhi - water-burial. All but for defying his father's
autocratic injunction of accepting 'Ahambrahmasmi'creed. When
Prahlad uttered Narayana, the Supreme Lord descended down straight
at this point and hurled the mountain with a wisp of his single
breath and lifted him from the sea; Ahobilam is the sacred spot,
where the Omnipotent Lord proved his Omnipresence - God abides in
every object; Kritasaucham is the holy spot, where Narasimha
cleansed of his body, stained with the wicked, impure flood of that
Rakshasadhama; and finally the Papaharam is the superb, sequestered
place, where Narsimha took rest in the form of Bidala Narakesari for
some time. All these four are located in Andhra Pradesh and are
visited and adored by almost all, irrespective of "ISM"
that is splitting mankind into fragments and tagging fantastic
labels. Along with the above, the much venerated Mangalagiri
Panakala Narasimhaswamy, the largely visited Yadagiri Lakshmi
Narasimhaswamy shrines are also situated in Andhra Pradesh,
testifying to their abiding faith in that God, and the unexceptional
ardour for Narasimhopasana that added an ever-green laurel to their
exemplary dedication to the Almighty God Sri Mahavishnu.
