MELKOTE - CHELLAPILLARAYA TEMPLE  

Melkote - the centuries old Vaishnava kshetra is the venue of another outstanding miracle produced by the redoubtable vaishnava pravakta Ramanuja, the Adisesha aspect of Srimannarayana born to revive and revitalize the land's sanathana Dharma getting suck up by the nascent Jainism and Buddhism. The pivotal role was masterly played by Ramanuja and the Muslim king ruling over the then princely state is the other colourless character, but whereas his living daughter played a colourful role. 

And she left behind a splendid relic, now visited by all castes and classes of people. The time of action is Ramanuja's stay at Melkote during his voluntary exile from the present Tamil Nadu. Now listen to the origin of that eventful episode.
