PLACES OF ITINERARY INTEREST
MAHATMA GANDHI MEMORIAL
This is a grand architectural beauty built in the Oriyan style in 1956 as a fitting memorial to Pujya Bapuji.
And it is on the shore, behind the temple. It lies on the same site, where the urn containing the ashes
of Bapuji was kept for public view before immersion on 12.1.1948.
It is so fashioned that the rays of the
sun at the noon fall through a tiny operature and illumine the pedestal, where the urn was kept for public
view on every October second. It is an ace engineering feat worthy of attention.
So it is deemed as a boon for the patriots to visit this place. Moreover, it was exultantly
praised by Bapuji as the ideal place for spiritual bliss.
