- Sri Ramaalayam
This sixteenth century temple dedicated to Sri
Rama is stilt incomplete, although nearly four
centuries have since rolled by. It dates back to
the time of Vijayanagara emperors and
attributed to the Ramarayalu's time. Conjecture,
are many, but the exact date is not arrived yet.
From the evidence of Hanuman's idol at the
entrance acting as Dwarapalaka. it is inferred
as Ramaalaya. The archamurti - Sri Rama
along with Sita and lakshmana installed here is
extremely enchanting to look. The walls are
adorned with sculptural pieces of great
craftsman ship and detain the viewers for long.
Many parts remain incomplete in construction
and beautification. During 1'ushya mass. annual
festival is celebrated for over a week and they
attract huge crowds.
It lies 15 km off Nizambad, the district
headquarters town of Andhra Pradesh
commanding bus service.
