BIRDS EYE VIEW OF SHRINES SUPERB

Dasavatara Temple

Swarnapuri, the erstwhile name of present ponnur, situated at about 25 K.M. from Guntur, the district head quarters of the same name proudly declares of possessing several supreme shrines of International importance. The Bhavanarayanaswamv Temple has had such a glorious record that it is on par with the Sarpavaram Bhavanarayanaswamy Kshetraofimrnensce pouranic significance. Along with it there are many Aalayaas, dedicated to' several deities like Matha Kanyakaparameswan,Shiridi Saibaba, Vinayaka etc.. Of the many others, deserving indispensable mention is Sri lnjaneyaswami Temple, enshrine in its vast campus four unique shrines, such as Sahasralingeswaraswamy Aalayaam, Bhiravaswamy Aalyaam, Garutmanta Aalyaam and Dasavatara Aalavaam. They are of recent construction, came into existances from 1938, onwards by the indefatigable striving of one great Devote by name Sri Janardhana Swami, belonging to Vvsya Community who lived in a village near Chebrolu Town of Guntur District Everything here is awesome and joins the palms of the visitors, the moment the enter rirtu the vast campus. The 24 X 12" foot - high - granite icon of Anjaneyaswamy is a sculptural master - piece. By its enormity and magesty it arrests the attention and ignites spiritual instincts at first sight itself. It faces east and adjoins to its South lies the Sahasralingeswara Swamy Aalyaam. Around the garbha griha there are installed one thousand and ten lingas, receiving daily worship along with the archamurti. Then comes the Bhairavaswamy Aalyaam. The moola vigraha although diminutive comparatively is superbly, carved. Adjoining to its right stand two Sannidhis - one for Garuda, and the another for Dasavatharas. The Garuda icon in standing posture is 30 feet in height and mesmerizes the viewers with superb craftsmanship. The Dasavatara Aalyaa, the lone temple of its kind in Bharatha Khand in well kept condition is housing ten separate independent mandirs for each of the ten incarnations of Srimahavishnu.

In addition, there are separate niches for Sri Pandurangaswamy and Sri Satyanarayanaswmay, besides many other Vaishanavate gods. a Single sight lifts and its very memory purges of sins of every
kind. The ten temples one for each incarnation in one place is a superb conception and construction and carrying regular and annual festivals on grand scale speaks volumes of the founder's and donors' unique spiritual evolution meriting instant prospetion.
