INDUS VALLEY CIVILISATION

After digging, the remains of a great city have been discovered.

Town Planning was known to these people; because streets 9 to 34 feet wide run and cut straight, dividing the city into blocks.

Houses crowd in narrow lanes in these blocks.

There have been public as well as private wells and baths.

There are remains of swimming pools and hot water supply and baths.

The city had an elaborate water supply and drainage system with soak pits.

At Harappa there is a granary 169ft. by 135 ft. and evidence of workmen’s quarters.

Burnt bricks were used in buildings. They are in good shape every to-day.
