MARCUS AURELIUS |
|
He wished he
could bring back to life the dead soldiers, so he could help them.
He let go the wife and children of Avidius.
Everyone praised the emperors goodness.
Soon after the war Marcus, with Empress Faustina and their son Commodius, paid a visit to
the cities that had revolted. He met the people there and forgave them all.
During that journey, however, Faustina fell ill and died.
Marcus loved her wife so dearly that he made a golden image of her after her death and
shed tears over it and prayed for her. |
