SAMSKARAS |
|
The most
important part of marriage is Panigrahana or holding the hand of the bride.
By enclosing her right hand in his right hand, and holding it tight, the bridegroom
promises to make her his partner in life.
The mantras uttered on this occasion are full of significance.
In the mantra, the bridgeroom calls the bride the queen of his home, and the goddess of
his prosperity.
He promises to be firm like a rock in his love and affection for her.
The bride and bridegroom look at the stars Vasishtha and Arundhati in the sky- because
they are the ideal couple.
There are many other Samskaras about which you will learn when you grow up. |
