HYMN TO THE EARTH |
|
One of them is
the Hymn to Prithvi or the Earth.
In this lesson we shall read a translation of some select portions of this poem, as
rendered by Prof. Ralph T.H. Griffith.
Truth, high and potent law, the Consecrating Rite,
Fervour, Brahma, and sacrifice uphold the Earth.
May she, the Queen of all that is and is to be may
Prithvi make ample space and room for us.
In whom the sea, and Sindhu, and the waters, in
Whom our food and corn-lands had their being, |
