SUNDARAR |
|
Next morning
heaps of rice could be seen in the house of the devotee and in the village and he in turn
filled Sundarar's granary with rice.
There came a festival at the temple of Tiruvarur. A large number of pilgrims were expected
to visit the place and Sundarar had no money to feed them.
He went to a nearby village in search of help. Not finding any, he went into the Siva
temple of the place and sang a hymn in praise of the Lord.
On that night Sundarar slept at an inn heaping some bricks beneath his head as a pillow.
When he awoke all the bricks had turned into gold. Sundarar took them to Tiruvarur
and fed the devotees by selling them. Later, on several occasions God helped the saint
with food and gold. |
