Once
Vashta visited me in America. He enjoyed the space and beauty of the country, with its
wide vistas, but sensed the loneliness and spiritual poverty of the culture. He also
visited Germany as his daughter had married a German architect. He learned the German
language and liked the culture, particularly thinkers like Goethe.I
visited Dr. Vashta many times over a ten year period and got to know both him and his
family, who accepted me as one of their own. Together we watched my Vedic work in India
develop from a mere idea to a significant influence, with many books and programs coming
out.
This was rewarding for both of us, as in the beginning we had no idea
what the future would bring. We had the fortunate opportunity to see our work crowned with
success in a period of only a few years. The last time I saw Dr. Vashta was in the
beginning of 1997. He was shifting from Mumbai to Pune, where he had built a retirement
home.
