| Yoga Narasimhaswamy is one of the nine types of Narasimhaswamy known by prefixes as Jwala Narasimhaswamy, Ugra Narasimhaswamy,Laxmi Narasimhaswamy etc. The worship of Lord Vishnu in this aspect of Narasimha is done mainly for the attainment of Moksha, whereas the other forms are intended for worldly benefits. It is therefore clear that in the ancient days, by the side of the holy and sacred river Godavari ' in the midst of thick forest, far away from human habitation and difficult of access, holy men had selected this place for consecrating this aspect of Lord Narasimha so that they might contemplate in peace and calmness on the divine. Dharmapuri, which has a hoary tradition and has been the seat of famous centres of culture, is thus well worth a visit. | |
