GANAGAPUR - DATTATREYA

After a stay of nearly four months at this place during which time he blessed the sixty four yogins, Shri Nrisimha Sarasvati departed for another village on theKrishna. This was Narasoba wadi.Formerly it was a wadi or offshoot of the village Amrapur by which name it is mentioned in the Guru- charitra. Narasoba wadi is approached from the Jayasingpur station on the Miraj Kolhapur railway. This is a kshetra which enjoys a popularity amongst the Datta sampradayins that is next to only Ganaga- pur. The object of worship is of course the padukas and the ritual routine is quite similar to the other two centres. The importance of this kshetra increased multi- fold because of the residence here of such eminent spiritual leaders as Shri Vasudevanand Sarasvati, who is regarded as an avatar of Dattatreya. Practices regarding the seva or service of the deity are the same as at the other two centres.
