ALWAR TIRUNAGARI |
|
As soon as the holy
slip was placed on the pitha along with the other literary specimens submitted to its
judgement, it retained the holy leaf and threw the others overboard. They were at once
convinced of the God-inspired character of the Saints works and conferred on him the
title of a true poet. The great truth expounded by Nammalwar in his works, is the oneness
of God whose highest and most complete conception is etymologically enshrined in the holy
name of Narayana (deity having within himself the Emanative, Preservative and Regenerative
powers). Lord Chaitanya of Bengal is said to have
visited Tirunagari Adikesava or Adinatha and taken with him back a copy of the Brahma
Samhita or the Dravida Samhita, as Tiruvaimozhi is called. |
