MAYAVARAM |
|
It is believed that
the river Ganga and Yamuna visit this place and mix with the Vrishabha Teertham on the day
of New Moon occurring in Aippasi. It is said that a pot of water taken from this Teertham
on this auspicious day can be preserved for any number of years without getting
spoiled. Thousands of orthodox Hindus take bath at
the Vrishabha Teertham, during the period known as Tula Snanam.
Mayavaram is one of the temples under the charge of Tiruvaduturai Adheenam.
Many festivals take place in this temple, of which the Brahma Utsavam is the most
important. |
