As soon as the
princess saw him the third breast disappeared. This gave the princess the sure indication
that he was her husband. Consequently, the girl
proposed to Nagaraja to marry her, but he said that he was performing penance for getting
the darsan of God and that he could not think of marriage before he was blessed with the
sight of God. The King's daughter replied that she too would join him in prayer, for her
lord's interest was she own.They both performed
penance for long, and their penance and prayer pleased Godto give them darsan. God then
wished to test the depth of their devotion and so appeared in the reclining form i.e.
Sesha Sayanam, but they were not satisfied 'to see God reclining. They prayed to him to
take his beautiful form and appear active. God then appeared in the sitting posture
(Padmasana). |
