| On another side, is
painted the scene of the Lord coming to his bhakta in the form of an outcaste with four
dogs and a drum in his hand, and Parvati leading two boys by the hand and a liquor pot on
her head. The Brahmins who were performing Yajna
shouted to the man to go away, as a
cut-caste should not approach them. Noting his persistent approach, all ran away from him
except one who was a true devotee and recognized that it was God Himself. There is another
deity in the temple, Lord Tyagaraja. Nagapattinam is one of the seven sacred shrines of
Tyagaraja. |
