PATTESWARAM

The father Dhenupureeswara wanted to
enjoy the sight of his beloved son coming from a distance. But the presence of his Vahanam. (Conveyance), the Nandi in front, obstructed the full view of the procession of Jnanasambandar to the temple. Hastily Lord Dhenupureeswara ordered his vehicle to move to a side leaving the front view free fromobstruction. In this temple, therefore, Nandi is not in its usual position but a little on the right side.

After the obstruction moved to a side, the Lord enjoyed from the sanctum sanctorum the ceremonial procession of his devoted disciple Jnanasambandar. This strange incident so overwhelmed Jnanasambandar with joy that he started spontaneously to sing ten songs in praise of God.
