| The invisible voice
transformed into a visible figure and that was Siva Himself. This is why the Shivalinga is
known as Navaneeteswarar (Siva emanating from the cream). Time passed and peoples constructed temples over the place, which is now called Sikkal. The name of the place is derived, from the Tamil word Sikkal meaning catch, because God was caught in the form of cream. |
