EPILOGUE |
|
For,
the Law of Piety, which he promulgated stood the test of the time
and gained potency as well as glory with the passage of time.
Decidedly, it makes the adherent an exemplary rare specimen by
igniting the slumbering spiritual instincts dormant in him. Like 'Panchakshara
Mahamantra', it instills morality, enkindles magnanimity, generates
sagacity, radiates generosity and infuses divinity. Why it animates
the whole-being of the ardent follower? In fine, it transforms the
base into divine.
Evidently
it invested Asoka's personality with the glow of a halo. He became
an idol to his contemporaries, who worshipped him with boundless
devotion worthy of emulation.
