We
have now witnessed a glimpse of the multi-faceted splendour of
Asoka. Here Asoka appears to have descended from heaven to walk in
gigantic strides among the spiritual Lilliputs that his subjects
were, to lift them up to Paradise--the blissful home of mankind. The
spectacular demonstration of his superhuman powers met with a
phenomenal success, which ultimately left behind his very name a
beacon light for illuminating the whole universe for centuries to
come.
Asoka
did this, and all by the miraculous powers of his 'Law of Piety' the
matchless Mahamantra of universal significance. He glorified it, and
it divinised him. Surely, Asoka and his Law of piety appear
complementary to each other. One cannot exist without the other, nor
could they bear separation. They are peerless, timeless and
deathless.
