INTRODUCTION

Towards the close, I have a duty to express my sincere thanks. to the authorities of the Yuva Bharathi for serializing the book in their journal in 1994-95, enlarging thereby the readership of my writings. And to several eminent popular poets I referred to in my narration. I only referred to their poems, but not printed for certain reasons. Moreover, my narration is elaborate. Yet I bow to them respectfully. To augment my publications project-releasing of children's books for display at the International Book Festival to be held in Jan '92 was felt expedient. So selecting this from among some more of similar types. I accelerated the printing programme this December '91 and completed in a .week. That urgency did not allow me to adorn certain portions fittingly with drawings. sketches for effective visual appeal. hence the expression of regrets. As there is enough exhortation packed to hounds in the narration, I think. the reader can grasp the intended even without illustrations. I welcome the views for incorporation in the next edition. Offering circumambulations to Srikanteswar, the Lord of Nanjangud. Karnataka incidentally my Kaladaivam for propelling me into action-writing and publishing this little master-piece to little children reading community. I resume my work under- the eternal benign guidance of MOTHER Sarada. whose omni compassion is enabling me to produce book after book. whose number crossed 45 by the time of writing this addition to the preface, written long back. Appealing you to read intently for better comprehension and complete assimilation, leading to willing implementation of a few morals even. I say bye now.
