But,
what are you scratching for: What do your worried looks indicate? You seem to be
a doubting Thomas? Aren't you? Ah! Your twinkling eyes and smiling lips do
confirm my doubts. Aren't they? Little as you are, you feel you cannot do
anything to your motherland. Do you consider that your age is the limiting
factor in that uphill task? You are mistaken then! Totally wrong!
Age
is not the criterion, nor is the size that counts in serving one's motherland.
Worth of a man does not depend upon his age i.e., man's merit is not measured in
the years, he puts in. Longevity should be assessed by the utility, but not vice
versa. The usefulness of one's life, verily depends not upon one's age. The
ideals he holds dear and the ardent desire to put them into practice are the
only factors that matter much. At all costs, he must endeavor to give a better
account of himself. Desire to serve and quantum of perseverance he puts in, take
him to the pedestal and honour him fittingly than anything else. He should shed sweetness
and light on others, however insignificant it might be. Further, he should make
himself accessible to these who seek his company, by reason of his extraordinary
attainments, like superior intellect, physical might, or spiritual maturity. His
virtuous conduct should serve as a model and inspire the same in
them. High ideals and insatiable urge to do good alone merit consideration, but
not definitely the age. Understand, age cannot claim honour and esteem, if it is
not backed by noble ideals and tenacity of purpose.
