The Earthly Abode of Lord Krishna

The greedy brahmins readily agreed to the deal. But to ! when the image was weighed in the balance, the Lord reduced Himself to such an insignificant weight that He weighed equal to the weight of the nose ring of Bodhana's wife. To the awe-struck greedy priests, there heard then aerial voice chastising for descending to that nefarious level and directing them to run post-haste to install another statue in the temple. They did. How fortunate was Bodhana! This event is said to have occurred in 1159. Realising its significance and to make Dakor another pilgrim centre, one of the . Sankaracharyas opened a branch of the Peeta at Dakor. Ardent theists visit Dakor to feast their eyes with the beauty of the original image of Jaganmohanakara and offer pujas with unbounded zeal. Dakor thus perpetuates the memory of Bodhana and hence became a place of pilgrimage.
