Among the recently emerged shrines, this recently built Kattamaisamma Mahalakhmi temple is luring large number of devotees everyday and is carrying on special prayer services on Tuesdays and Fridays on a grand scale Its origin is quite fascinating and contributed greatly to its rapid popularity. It is said that during the digging operations near the present temple, the workers found a beautiful image of the goddess and when it is brought to the notice of ardent devotees, they built a thatched shed and installed it Their regular worship was rewarded with tangible results. Soon it caught public attention, as the number of beneficiaries increased by leaps and bounds.
