They at once set the proposal in motion-sent a
message to accept them as spouses. Kousaki waiting for that opportunity sent the
ambassador with the news that she would wed, if only they win the battle with
her. Unwilling to fight they sent their army commanders along with Raktabija,
Dumralochana and Chanda Munda to bring her to their presence using muscle force.
Alas! all were made to bite the dust killed with utmost ease. Wasn't she
the incarnation of the all powerful Sati? Enraged at this, the brothers entered
the war theatre only to be routed out and out. The entire ashram region
reverberated with sounds of victory. She then blessed them with Kanakavarsha and
made their lives live-worthy with peace reigning to its full and eternity. As
the region glittered with the gold fallen, it was called Kanakawada and the grateful
sages called her Kanakadurga and worshipped her with due rituals and ardour unique.
Because of the victory over asuras, this place was also called Vijayapuri.
