My well wishers Mr. V. Sreesan, M.A., and N.R. Srinivasan, MA.. Sub-Editors on the Editorial staff of Sapthagiri, T.T.D. monthly readily obliged me in lending source material available with them. 1 offer my grateful thanks to both of them. Several books in English. Tamil. Telugu and Kannada along with folders and pamphlets issued by Tourism Department and temples were consulted for .giving shape, size and sustenance to this volume. About plates - almost all the available material is used except, of course, the photos of icons. and it is well-known they lie beyond the focus of camera lens. Available ones are utilised. Adorning the section on Vinayaka with computer figures is a novelty and time consuming work; Yet it was done grandly.
