This Divya Desam although lying in the proximity of Ernakulam, the premier harbor city of Kerala does not command adequate facilities, either to reaching or staying overnights there. The Lord - Tirukatkaraiappan being disposed to devout bhaktas favorably, he is much sought after God for quick emancipation and easy crossing of the samsarasagara. The icon of the archamurti faces south and he is in standing posture. The temple built in Kerala architectural design possesses all the essential parts. The Goddess is called Perumselvanayaki. Kapila Mahaishi was blessed with the darsan of the Lord and his devout austerities were duly rewarded. The temple tank goes by the name of Kapila thirtha and the Vimana, Pushkala. Daily worship is offered according to agama tenets and the annual festivals are celebrated with great eclat. Nammalvar visited and offered Mangalasasana to the Moolavar expressing his devotion to the Lord and land.
