Tiruvanparisaram
- Tirukkularappan Ambalam
This
ancient Vaishnava kshetra has certain additional plus points that raised its
glory to a commendable degree besides the divinity pervading the entire region
due to enshrining the Omni compassionate archamurti Tirukkuralappan. It is the
birth place of the mother of Nammalvar, and moreover his devout father
bequeathed his big mansion to the devotees for conducting bhajans etc. It has
become something like national monument for holy purposes and usually the
visitors to this temple pay a visit to the monument and pay obeisance to the
illustrious parents of the celebrated Alwar. One more! Lying near to the sea,
all visitors fake sea bath invariably deeming their visit is doubly blessed. The
archamurti lying on the Adisesha with His consorts on either side of the feet
gives darsan and lifts the souls of the bhaktas. Many divinities were blessed
with the vision of the lord and wore emancipated after ardent prayers and among
them Mahakali, Vindhai, etc. find their name. The Goddess is called Kamalavalli
Natchiar. CJdipi Brahmins are officiating as the priests of the temple instead
of Nambudris. The temple thirtha is called lakshmi thirtha and the Vimana is
called Indra Kalyana Vimana Agamic worship is offered and annual festivals are
celebrated with great pomp and splendour.
It
lies about 3 km off Nagerkoil, a famous town of Kerala and accessible by bus.
