Mathura
- Krishna Janmabhumi Mandir
Birth
places of celebrities, however ancient they are hold an irresistible attraction
for the devout bhaktas. It seems divinity in its ethereal form is hovering over
there and breathing out tranquility that comforts the believers to a great
extent. It is not like the sweet fragrance of lovely blossom
that mingles in the air sooner than its colour fades. The glory of the spot
grows million fold and fills the entire region with the passage of time, rather
it gains greater potency only after the death of the divine personalities. It is
akin to draksharasa growing in potency with the rhotioh of Kalachakra. The craze
for people to visit and pay homage never wants. This is illustrated in the
yatris visiting the erst-while prison cell of Bhagawan Krishna in Mathura.
It
houses the famous prison cell, where Krishna was born. Aurangazeb the fanatic
destroyed it and built a mosque on it. Later. devout Hindus built a temple on a
grand scale with a complex in front. This complex caters to the tourists and
bhaktas in several ways, like offering medical, food and lodging facilities. An
International Guest House with star category arrangements is providing
accommodation to the affluent people, and also cheap accommodation to the common
man. It is said that the throne of Kamsa was found buried underneath it, and it
is preserved as a relic. Many community singing programme are conducted
regularly, and so huge crowds.
It
lies on the way to Govardhan from Mathura, the famous pilgrim city of Gujarat.
