Koppara
Kshetra - Vriksharupa Narasimha Devalaya
This is another curious place of worship, where the devotees adore not any icon, nor painted picture, but a tree deemed
infinitely powerful as the adorable Lord itself. Haven't the primitive people adored almost all the objects of Nature animate or
inanimate for security and prosperity. Were they let down by the Omnipresent God? Were they drowned in eternal misery as
their descendants, boasting of establishing colonies on Moon ? Faith liberates and brings bliss.
Here is a unique kshetra, and now avail the darsan. Lord Narasimha is in the form of tree - Vriksharupa Narasimha, so all
kinds of prayer services are offered to it in the usual manner. The belief that the Lord abiding here in the odd form is so deep
and widespread that it turned 'the place into a great pilgrim centre since long. Theists visit and offer worship in addition to
redeeming their vows, as it i, done elsewhere in other places to several adorable deities. It is said that it is the only one of its
kind in the whole of 13harat. Its uniqueness is drawing several thousands throughout the year from far and near. And
strangely enough the faith in the Ford seems on the increase, for, the believed are relieved of their, worries and cares. It - is
a visit-worthy place and the lord being Uncompassionate has never failed his adorers.
The Village Koppara is 80 miles from Gulbarga in the Karnataka state, accessible by bus.
