RABINDRANATH TAGORE |
|
The Maharshi
decided to educate his son at home. He drew up the time-table and made his son study the
lessons in history, geography, etc., given by him. He asked
teachers to come to his house and help the child. Gymnastics and drawing were also part of
his studies. A wrestler came to him to teach wrestling. He also learnt
swimming.
When Rabi was going eleven, his father took him to see places. That was the first time he
travelled in a train. On the way he saw the mountain scenery and was charmed by it.
Bolpur, Dinapur, Allahabad, Dalhousie and Amritsar were some of the places he visited with
his father. He saw the Golden Temple at Amritsar. All
this made him write poems on Nature even at his young age.
Some of these were published in the papers. |
