AKBAR

Akbar had an imposing personality. A trifle obese, he was of medium height and broad-shouldered. He had a healthy white  complexion. He wore moustaches but no beard.

Of the three sons he had, two died even before Akbar and the remaining son Salim who later came to be called Jehangir  was a great disappointment to him. He often worried how his son would hold the empire he so assiduously built.

Akbar passed away in 1605.

Compared to the rules immediately before and after him, Akbar's shines as the brightest in India's medieval history.
