THE UNITY OF RELIGION AND RELIGIOUS TOLERANCE
The fact is that a person will not get the same realization through all religions as through Hindu paths that teach Self-realization. Many religions neither recognize Self-realization as their goal nor teach methods to achieve it. How could they possibly lead anyone to it, when they don't even recognize it as valid? This explain why such realization as stressed in Vedanta, that of Brahman (the Absolute) or Atman (the Self), is practically unheard of in a number of religions and why in the last two thousands year there are very few figures like the great yogis of India and Tibet who have lived in the Western world, particularly in Western Europe.

Otherwise such Westerners as myself, who was raised a Catholic, would not have had to turn to teachers from the East to find teachings that were never given to them in their own religious training.
