SRIKURMAM |
|
By the grace of the
Lord, a bath in the Ksheerasamudram at this place would remove all impurities and
imperfections in men. After sometime a Bhil woman who was hungry and thirsty came there,
and bathed in the tank and was elevated, and reported her experience to her husband. Her
husband also came and was blessed by the Lord and, being a pious man, and seeing Lord Sri
Kurmanatha with the Sankha, Chakra, Gada and Padmini there, he constructed a temple to the
Lord. The king Suta also built a temple with golden walls and, in consultation with Narada
and Brahma, first consecrated Srikurmanatha with the Sudarsana Mantra. Thereupon the Lord
took on his various aspects, and, in order to pacify him, the Gopala Mantra was also
consecrated, and Srikurmanatha was pacified and became his old benevolent self. |
