VEMULAVADA |

Besides many other
& Sivalingas in the place, there are also a few Buddhist and Jain images found in the
premises of the temple. But all these images seem to be later additions. Similarly, there
is one Seshasayi temple just behind the Rajeswara temple in the same compound. In addition
to these, there are two other temples called the Bhimeswara temple and the Kedareswara
temple, in the same village. These two temples are of great importance and antiquity, and
have been famous even before the present Rajeswara temple was constructed. It is mentioned in the book "Rajeswara Mahatmyam" that Bhimeswara
himself took the form of Rajeswara since the time when a king by name Narendra constructed
the later temple. It is said that Vemulavada Bhimakavi, who is a well-known Telugu poet,
acquired all his talents due to the grace of the Lord of this place. |
