| Vemulavada with the
Rajeswara temple, is one of the most famous of the Siva temples of Andhra Pradesh.
Thousands of pilgrims from all parts of the State flock here to have darshan of the Lord.
In the months of Magha and Phalguna, the stream of devotees becomes endless and reaches
thousands. At the time of Maha Sivarathri, the crowd becomes very big. The Kalyanotsavam
of the Lord here is celebrated on the Purnima day of the Phaiguna month every year. There
are days when thousands of devotees come and offer their homage and sacrifice to the Lord.
The income to the temple is said to be nearly 3 to 4 lakes of rupees, which is collected
practically during the course of these few days. |
