Seth
Manikchand, Banker andpredecessor of jagat Seth also came to Murshidabad. Men
throughout Bengal and beyond resorted to his gadi.Thus theadministration of the revenue
matters came into the hands of the trio, Nawab of Murshidabad, Jagat Seth and the
"Bangadhikari" of the
Kanungo.This was a glorious period for Dahapara.Darpa Narain built his residential home at
Dahapara of which Kiritkona was practically a portion.The temple of Kiritesvari quickly came into limelight by the change of fortunate
for Mukhsudabad (Murshidabad).Darpa Narain did a lot to restore the Kiritesvari
temple. He carried out extensive repairs and cleared the jungles. But by that time
the image of the deity had been taken away. |
