One day, to her
great joy, she felt the sweet fragrance of freshly blossomed flowers coming from a certain
direction. She and her companions reached a beautiful garden where thousands of sages were
conducting penance and yagas. It surprised them greatly
to see wild animals like lions and tigers guarding the place around, like tame animals. The birds were chanting the Panchakshara Mantra and monkeys were engaged
in collecting fruits and twigs of the sacred peepal tree (Samidha) to feed the sacrificial
fire.There were many Sivalingam As6,in the place. As soon as Devi entered the garden, she
felt some sensation, in her left eye and left arm, thereby indicating the place where she
had to remain and conduct penance. |
