Next day Annaswamy
Nayagar went to the picture stall and received the present of the picture from the stall
keeper who had seen him in the vision of the night before. Satisfied at heart, Annaswamy
treasured the picture carefully and returned to his native home at Kodambakkam, 5 miles
from Madras.
Annaswamy worshipped the picture devotedly at home. Often he went into ecstasy, and
gradually attained the power for prediction. It was something like the spontaneous
revelation of truth by God through the mouth of Annaswamy. This attracted people all
around. The number of visitors increased. Annaswamy distributed the holy ash to all
Bhaktas. Time passed and Annaswamy grew old. Quite naturally he began to think of a
successor to conduct the puja to the picture zealously guarded by him so long. |
