VADAPALANI

Introduction

Vadapalani means North Palani, which is one of the most consecrated places of Lord Subrahmanya. A picture was brought by a devotee from Palani and worshipped here by command of Lord Subrahmanya himself.

A devotee of Lord Subrahmanya, Annaswamy Nayagar used to visit Tiruttani. One night when he was in deep meditation inside the temple walls there, the priest closed the doors of the temple and went home, without noticing him. When Annaswamy Nayagar came out of divine communion to physical consciousness, he found himself locked up inside the prakarams. There is a Hindu belief 'that if one's tongue is cut in the presence of God with His permission, the man gets Vachanasiddhi(Whatever he utters turns true).
