Please grant it". Elated at his
ardour, that Bhatavasankar drew
out from his soul and handed it over to him. With inexplicable joy wreathing his
face he received it, and when heard from the Lord, "Take it home as you
desire, but do not put it down on the earth anywhere on your way, if done it can
never be lifted tried however much you like. It will shower all boons on anyone
and by regular soulful worship one can tide over all the worldly worries. Be
gone".
Overjoyed
Ravana offering thanks for the priceless boon showered, started his journey
homewards. There sprouted a ripple in the mind of Brahma then and perturbed his
tranquility a little. Sure the Atmalinga, if enshrined in the Lankarajya, it
becomes another Kailas and desecration would soon envelope, giving place to
irreverence; when the glory of Lord Siva would diminish, which is undesirable
and omnious. So he decided to see that the Sivalinga confine to Bharat varsha
alone through some strategy. He confided to Vinayaka his strategy and solicited
him to act as a cow-herd and pretend to help Ravana when his help was sought.
