The area was then under the jurisdiction of Adil Shah, who ruled from his capital, Bijapur. He was a devout Muslim, with great regard for other religions too. He happened to come here once. He dreamt then. In it he was directed by Lord Srinivasa to build a temple and make arrangements for Yatris coming in thousands from far off places, and he would be blessed with the fulfillment of his aspirations long over due, particularly the birth of a fitting heir. Unluckily he was without issues and was seeking means for santanaprapti, invoking all the gods, transcending the religious barriers. When completed the construction of temple with choulties for pilgrims' convenience, he was blessed with a male issue as said in the dream. He endowed the temple in several ways; for, the Lord accomplished every thing he desired, mainly heir to the throne. As this episode reached the four corners of his kingdom first end the whole Bharat next, yatris started pouring into the temple timelessly and endlessly.
