FESTIVALS
Several
kinds of festivals are celebrated to the deities periodically and
people make every function a great event by lavish expenditure on
illumination, sound and music, during the evenings, when they take
out the deities in procession. Of them, Sarannavaratri
festival lasting for 10 days, Kalyanotsavam for Bhramaramba
Malleswaraswamy deserve attention. Due to participation by rich
theists and generous philanthropists, each function makes the city
looks like Bhulokaswarga, and the tumultuous rejoicing sometimes
bring the celestials down to witness and feel envy at the way of
celebration.
