UNIQUENESS
Sri
Veera Venkata Satyanarayan swamy! A name for a deity; pretty longer,
isn't it? Perhaps the longest. Though appears longest, it is
shorter, if seen against the queerest history, the Mula Virathas
made; the mightiest boons showered; the largest community of adorers
claimed; the greatest attraction he holds; holiest abode he dwells
in, and the sublimest means he prescribed for the enviable progress
during earthly sojourn, and emancipation after death· They are
enviable to say the least. The august icon enshrined its the
Annavaram temple, built atop the Ratnagiri hills, surrounded by the
holy River Pampa and drawing thousands and thousands of devotees day
after day is that of the Supreme Deity, Sri Veera Venkata
Satyanarayanaswamy, whose emergence despite quite recent, its impact
is so stunning that the temple has become so popular to be regarded
as the second Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh. Neither its origin takes
us back to the Vedic times, nor is it visited by celestials, for
worshipping or soliciting assistance, neither did it lure spiritual
luminaries to its abode to sing in praise of its glory, nor even the
mighty princes diverted their revenues to make it a sculptural piece
to be preserved in museums, yet it is it mesmerizing the countless
ardent devotees, why?
