ANTIQUITY As this kshetra was turned into Dhakshina Kailas by Lord Maheswar, so as to be within the easy reach of his bhakthakoti in the beginning of creation itself, it has such abundant corpus of evidence that scores of racks are overflowing with rare books dealing with the lilas of Maheswar. Every writer, both in rhapsody or tranquility emptied his soul eulogising the glory of the Lord, for its history is as old as the universe. The Sthalapuranam supplies such fantastic accounts that consume days and nights of incessant study. So it is enough, if attention is paid to three episodes instrumental in giving to this kshetra the holy name of Srikalahasti. |
