So
he had ample opportunity of seeing everyday both in mornings and
evenings huge concourse of devotees visiting the temple and praying
to the deities amidst changing of bells and chanting of hymns.
Endowed with theistic impulses, his devotion was enkindled and rose
to unimaginable heights. From the stories in circulation about the
glory of the deities he heard with rapt attention, he found himself
slowly drawn towards the holy feet of the presiding deities.
His
watching with keen interest several ritualistic prayer services
offered during the periodical festivals impressed him infinitely and
turned him a pious devotee. And in a course of a few weeks, this
intense longing instilled a burning ambition to worshipping the
deities, particularly Mother Vedanayaki, since he was acquainted
much about her miracles and her boundless vatsalya. He wanted to
enter into the temple and offer prayers at the sannidhis, like
Indians. And to participate in congregational bhajans and the like,
but could not.
