to enjoying the celebration of annual festival. How rubbish! Is
there any logic in spending lakhs over the celebration of weddings
to the icons annually? Is not absurd to expect cures to the
incurable diseases by mere vows? Is it not a crime to offer
sacrifices of animals and humans to appease the stone images? Should
the unseen God deserve veneration? Do the blood-thirsty queer images
worth more than the cost of labour put in? Aren't the scriptures
that advocate these blind beliefs and nauseating traditions be
consigned to names? Should the priest-craft guiding the performance
of such heinous acts be put wholesale massacre? And temples the
citadels of religion allowing such barbarity be razed to the ground?
Isn't it a service to humanity to stop such savagery? Let us see the
descent of God, if He really exists to save His own votaries, if
violence is resorted to?
As the shouting and thundering roaring and
howling started mounting in intensity, there appeared in a flash the
ignominious past with scenes of walling of the high caste Brahmins
over the loss of caste, property and profession, due to acts of
vandalism directed against the temples. Done and are being done in
the name of progressive views, they are carrying on several kinds of
heinous acts, making temples and priests as their principal targets.
