VIJAYAWADA - MATA KANAKADURGA TEMPLE  

Here we are now atop the Indrakiladri, consecreted by the presence of Mother kanakadurga and Lord Maheswar in the local name of Malleswaraswamy.  This hill, thus bearing on its head the two most worshipful deities, besides the sacred spot of Arjuna's penance, it is sprayed by the pavana Krishna, making this pavitra yatrasthala into a famous Triputi, where Thirtham, Kshetram and Daivam are adding their share to converting it into an unparalleled centre of religious activities throughout the year. 

With these three august factors Vijayawada, the erst-while capital of many illustrious dynasties is making commendable progress in every field of human activity.  It is here enacted an awe-some miracle that humbled the hollowed racial superiority of a petty police officer, whose superciliousness encroached on the much honoured custom of the temple during the annual Ayudhapuja.
