HISTORICITY
Several
stories are narrated about the origin of the temple and its deities. Legend and
history seem vying with each other in bringing out its divinity. So each guide,
or local has his own version and interpretation, but confesses humbly that if
one enters into the maze of its origin, none but God alone could take him out of
it, for concrete evidence eludes the grasp of any of them. Ironically, divinity
though invisible fills the soul of the devotee and makes him utter "Many
and varied are the ways of God and this is one as such."
